What is the easiest way to learn a new language?

If you are here to know how to learn absolutely foreign languages in a month, then I don’t have answers for you. Because, it’s not possible to fluently learn a language in a month or two, but it’s definitely possible to make a visible improvement in 2 month. So, if you are ready to be patient and don’t hope that some miracle would happen then I would be glad to tell you what helps me to learn English.

During the reading you may find a few of maybe a few dozen mistakes that I will do, but you know, it’s okay, because making mistakes means that you’re trying to do something and making even more mistakes means that you try to improve yourself and your knowledge on something.

So, how to learn languages that you don't even understand when the one word is finished and the other about to start? Well, first of all you must find something that motivated you. Do you want to read a book that you can find in your native languages? Do you want to watch movies with your favorite actor or actress without subtitles or translation? Do you want to understand what exactly about your favorite music is bad singing? Do you find a country that you want to live in, but don’t know a single word of that country’s language? Do you go for a vacation? Or do you just enjoy learning something new and open new horizons for yourself? Find the answer, take it to your mind and follow it to the moment when your goal becomes a reality.

But, you must say, “motivation is great, but what about some really effective ways?” One word: practice. It is really-really-really standard advice and you will read and hear about it everywhere, but you know what? It’s working. You also may say that the “practice” is a blurry concept and you don’t know where to start or if you would start it right, but as shows me experience and experience of my friends there is no one advice for everyone. You should try different kinds of practices and find your own unique way to enjoy the process.

For example, when I was bored about texts when some abstract “Alex” asked how to get from point A to point B, I just started to read my favorite book in the language I want to learn, obviously. So, I opened the book on page one and understood nothing but the names of the characters. I tried to learn, it was hard, but on page 300 I suddenly realized that I started to understand what’s going on and what part of the story that I know I read. You don’t need to read all books at once, you may stretch the process by a month, two or more, just don’t forget to enjoy the process.

Another way to practice is to watch the series and movies in a foreign language. You may use the subtitles, but if you want even more fun, turn the subtitles off and enjoy the “blah-blah-blah”. Try to watch something that you watch before, at the first, it would be easier for you, again, you would know what’s going on, but you won’t be disturbed and distracted by the words at the bottom of the screen.

Also, one of the most effective methods of learning a new language is to practice with someone who is already good at it or who is a native speaker. Believe me it makes you try so hard to speak correctly that after a while you are really starting to speak more confident and easy. I have conversations with Americans and for the first I was terrified “what if I say something wrong?”, “What if they won’t understand me or will laugh at my accent?”. And you know what, I made a mistake, but nobody laughed and after some time, I was just enjoying the conversation and didn't mind making mistakes. We’re lucky that today we should meet native speakers online and nothing bothers us to improve our skills.

There are hundreds and hundreds of methods that you should simply try. And try again. And again. And again. And one day you when you will understand the joke in “Friends” that you’re watching in Spanish/Russian/Chinese/French/Italian/add your language you will be so inspired that you will turn another episode with even more enthusiasm and with a strong desire to understand more. At that exact moment you will understand that there are no magic and no tricks, the main secret is to enjoy yourself and the process.
